Who is the heart and soul behind The Big Little Shop

The Big Little Shop is a UAE-based, family-run creative business rooted in sustainability, storytelling, and the art of upcycling.

Founded in 2013 by multidisciplinary artist Rania El Gamal and her daughter Farah, the shop began as a shared space where mother and daughter could spend meaningful time creating together.

Rania repurposes vintage broken ceramics and sea glass, transforming them into artfully crafted jewelry, mosaic works, collages, and other nature-inspired eco-friendly creations.

With a passion for storytelling through materials, her artwork explores the connection between memory, renewal, and the quiet beauty found in the broken and imperfect. Each handmade piece reflects her belief that discarded things can be reborn with purpose — blending craftsmanship, environmental consciousness, and a touch of whimsy.

Farah, the younger creative force behind the brand, discovered her love for working with clay at a young age. She is now exploring pottery making with curiosity and enthusiasm, shaping her own artistic voice through hand-built pieces, playful experiments, and the joy of learning a craft deeply connected to the earth.

Together, Rania and Farah bring heart, imagination, and sustainable creativity to every piece that emerges from The Big Little Shop.
